Matthew Curtis was born and raised in the Washington, DC metro area. Picking up the saxophone on a whim in elementary school, he showed natural talent and quickly progressed. He hasn't put it down since and uses the instrument to express his love for music.

Throughout his high school years, Matthew played various styles of music for a number of bands. It was there that he decided to pursue his passion full-time. Upon graduating, he pursued his Bachelor's Degree from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL.  At The Great B-CU, Matthew was a member of several organizations including the Jazz Combo, Symphonic Band, Collegiate Music Educator’s National Conference, the world renown Marching Wildcats, and the Delta Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Furthering his education, Matthew obtained a Master’s Degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University in Orlando Florida and graduated as the salutatorian of his class. After gaining valuable knowledge in many different aspects of the entertainment industry, he moved back to the Washington Metropolitan area, where he played saxophone for a number of private and public functions, including monthly shows at the renown local venue Takoma Station Tavern. Matthew has played for various public figures including governors, congressmen, and well-known entertainers. He recently relocated to Los Angeles and is available for your next event!
